The image is from a photoshoot in December 2017 during a meeting between then prime minister Boris Johnson and Ali Shamkhani concerning Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, a British-Iranian woman--regime dissident imprisoned from April 2016 - March 2022. Shamkhani was a naval officer turned politician who was killed by the Israelis in 2026.
Johnson is a member of the British Conservative Party--which makes him a good fit for the "conservatives and their turtles" series. When it comes to war or austerity, his politics are indistinguishable from liberal Tony Blair. Johnson's most atrocious act was lobbying Zelenskyy and the Ukranian's to deny a peace deal with Moscow in April 2022.
